Situation Overview
At approximately 1630 EST, Savy NEAL operators Chaosyysss, ExoSpec, and Nater Tots returned to the Stanton system following a successful recovery effort in the Nyx system involving multiple missing persons. Proceeds from those missions enabled Chaosyysss to acquire an A2 Hercules bomber. The team elected to conduct a live-field test of the A2 at the Hathorn Sites, with the secondary objective of recovering Carnite for the organization.
Engagement One
While Chaosyysss conducted an accelerated bomber familiarization and lined up his first bombing approach, ExoSpec and Nater Tots moved to disable the Crusader comms array. This action was taken to reduce the chance of attracting unwanted bounty hunter attention during the engagement.
Using the Rocinante and a Dragonfly, ExoSpec and Nater Tots successfully disabled the comms array in coordination with Chaosyysss’ bombing run. The timing was effective, and the A2 delivered a successful strike on the mining site using Size 10 Colossus bombs. All hostile craft and ground contacts in the strike zone were destroyed.
Following the strike, Chaosyysss landed to survey the area while ExoSpec and Nater Tots arrived aboard the Rocinante to begin Carnite recovery.
Shortly after arrival, hostile forces returned in a Hornet to assess the site. ExoSpec took the lead on Carnite collection while Chaosyysss returned to the A2 to provide air cover. Nater Tots engaged the Hornet with a railgun. The combined pressure from the railgun and A2 forced the Hornet to disengage. It was later assessed that the hostile pilot withdrew to gather reinforcements.
With the immediate threat cleared, Nater Tots moved into the cave to assist ExoSpec. During recovery, ExoSpec identified 15 Carnite gems inside the mining bag of a disabled GEO. Due to the likelihood of hostile reinforcements, the team made the decision to exfiltrate with the captured GEO rather than continue searching the site.
ExoSpec and Nater Tots tractored the GEO back to the Rocinante while Chaosyysss maintained overwatch from the A2. The decision to exfil proved correct. As the GEO was loaded into the cargo hold, hostile forces returned with an A2 of their own and bombed the site.
ExoSpec and Nater Tots survived the strike. The Rocinante absorbed the majority of the blast, but the explosion launched Nater Tots approximately 120 meters from the ship and flipped the Rocinante. Due to ExoSpec’s quick response, he was able to regain control from the pilot seat, recover the ship, and extract Nater Tots from the blast area.
The team then set course for Grim HEX and successfully stored the captured Carnite. After regrouping, the team reviewed the engagement and prepared for a second engagement.
Engagement Two
At approximately 1745 EST, the team redeployed to the Hathor Sites. ExoSpec and Chaosyysss crewed the A2, while Nater Tots deployed in a Zeus with a Dragonfly to disable the comms array again.
As before, the team successfully coordinated the comms array shutdown with a perfectly timed A2 bombing run. The strike targeted a hostile group that had just completed use of the OLP to open the cave. Chaosyysss’ bombing run eliminated all hostile craft and ground forces at the site.
ExoSpec and Chaosyysss moved to secure the cave while Nater Tots set course to join them. Anticipating a possible hostile counterstrike or return engagement, Nater Tots issued a call for additional Savy NEAL air support.
Savy NEAL operator A1dqn and Savy NEAL Chief VizFact answered the call. A1dqn arrived quickly in a Polaris to assist in securing the AO. VizFact arrived shortly after in a Zeus, bringing two critically needed GEOs to support full resource recovery.
With additional support in place, the team secured the site, recovered all available Carnite, and safely exfilled to Grim HEX.
Results
Engagement Status: Successful
Carnite Recovered: 65 gems
Friendly Losses: None confirmed
Friendly Damage: Rocinante sustained blast impact and was temporarily disabled/flipped during hostile A2 bombing run
Enemy Losses: Multiple hostile ground contacts and craft destroyed across both engagements
Strategic Outcome: A2 bombing capability confirmed effective for site-clearing engagements. Coordinated comms array disruption significantly reduced external interference risk.
Key Successes
The team demonstrated strong timing and coordination between comms disruption and bombing runs.
Chaosyysss successfully deployed the A2 in a live combat environment with immediate impact.
ExoSpec’s quick reaction after the hostile A2 strike prevented the loss of the Rocinante & recovered Carnite and enabled recovery of Nater Tots.
Nater Tots’ call for reinforcements during the second engagement helped prevent a repeat of the first hostile counterstrike scenario.
A1dqn and VizFact provided critical reinforcement support, with VizFact’s delivery of additional GEOs enabling full Carnite recovery.
Executive Summary
The Hathor Carnite Recovery engagement was a successful two-phase action that demonstrated the Savy NEALs’ ability to coordinate bombing runs, comms disruption, ground recovery, and rapid reinforcement support under active hostile conditions.
During the first engagement, the team successfully cleared the site, recovered an initial 15 Carnite gems, and survived a hostile A2 counterstrike. During the second engagement, the team refined the approach, secured air and ground support, and completed a full recovery of the remaining Carnite.
By the end of the engagement, all Savy NEAL personnel had safely exfilled to Grim HEX with 65 Carnite gems secured for the organization. The engagement also confirmed the A2 Hercules as an effective site-clearing asset when paired with comms control, ground coordination, and rapid-response air support.
